Augusta, GA –Miss Sylvia “Sibbie” Barton, 68, entered into rest Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at University Hospital.
Sibbie was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was special and loved everyone she met. Sylvia was a gift from God to her brothers and sisters.
Family members include her brother: Randy Pratt (Cathy) of Augusta, sisters: Linda B. Shackelford (Jim), Bonnie B. Shelton (David), Susan P. Smith (Jeff), Kathleen P. Welsh, Angela P. Hodges (Danny) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. David Shelton officiating. Pallbearers will be Phillip Bertsch, Allen Smith, Joseph Michau, Danny Hodges, Jeff Smith and Jim Shackelford.
Memorials may be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 1230 Johnson Ferry Rd., Suite E-40, Marietta, GA 30068-2054.
The family will receive friends tonight, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907
