Mr. Fortner was a retired Sergeant with the US Army serving 18 months in Vietnam as a Radio Operator. He was a decorated Veteran who received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm Leaf, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal with Bronze Clasp. Mr. Fortner was a member of St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Patrick Walch Council #677.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Gerald Ragan officiating.
