Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at University Hospital, Mr. Johnnie R. Hamilton, 80, husband of Margaret Lewis Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton was a native and life long resident of the Augusta area. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Lily Tulip Cup Corp. Mr. Hamilton was a member of West Acres Baptist Church.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughters: Melanie Hamilton of Martinez, Karen Hamilton Hale and husband, Kenneth of Evans; grandchildren: Kyle M. Hale of Atlanta, Blaine A. Hale of Atlanta, sisters: Patsy Tankersley of Florida, Marian Amerson of Warrenville, SC and brothers: David Hamilton and Wayne Hamilton of Martinez.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harman and Rev. Denny Mack officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Lee, Archie Lee, Kenneth Hale, Roger Vandiver and Jimmy Harper. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday beginning at 10:00 A.M. at West Acres Baptist Church.
