Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, November 23, 2016, Mrs. Hazel Dean Greene, 91, wife of 70 years to Rev. Lloyd C. Greene.
Dean was a native of Shelby, NC. She worked as a kindergarten teacher at Bayvale Baptist and Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, something she loved. She was a sales clerk for Belk Department Store for many years. She was affectionately known as “granny” by her grandchildren and was a faithful pastor’s wife throughout her marriage.
Family members in addition to her husband include sons: Michael Greene and wife Sandra, Scott Greene and wife Debbie and Tim Greene and wife Karen; daughter: Faye Burton and husband Bobby; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and sister: Bobbie Nell Hastings. She was preceded in death by 7 siblings.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00A.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Julius Turner and Rev. Albert Stroup officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Greene, Doug Greene, Dean Patterson, Chad Robertson, Chris Willis and Todd Greene.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Heights Baptist Church, 105 Camellia Ave, Martinez, GA 30907.
