Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, May 7, 2009, Mrs. Dorothy H. “Dot” Martin, 89, wife of the late Earnest M. Martin.
Mrs. Martin was a native of Atlanta, GA and was a lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a homemaker and a member of New Heights Baptist Church and was active in the Lay Renewal in the Southern Baptist Convention.
Family members include her sister: Martha H. Hardy; niece: Martha H. Odom (Earnest); nephews: Albert P. Hardy (Jackie), Joseph K. Hardy (Camille) and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev Lloyd Green officiating. Pallbearers will be Al Hardy, Earnest Odom, Ashley Odom, Knox Hardy, Earl Welch and Joe Hardy. Entombment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to New Heights Baptist Church, 105 Camilla Ave., Augusta, GA 30907 or to Habitat for Humanity, 1002 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
