AUGUSTA, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, April 30, 2009 at The Place at Martinez, Mrs. Eleanor Blazer, 90, the beloved wife of Jake D. Blazer.
Mrs. Eleanor Marie Blazer was a native of Columbia County, Georgia and resided in Martinez. Mrs. Blazer was a member of Powell Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School prior to moving to El Paso, Texas. She attended East Wood Baptist Church in El Paso and taught Sunday School. When she returned to Augusta, she attended Warren Baptist Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Blazer made her career in banking at the National Exchange Bank in Augusta and the State National Bank of El Paso, Texas. At State National Bank she was the payroll clerk for 365 employees. Mrs. Blazer was an outstanding bank representative praised for her loyalty, devotion and outstanding performance in that position of responsibility. She was loved and respected by her fellow workers.
Mrs. Blazer is survived by her husband, Mr. Jacob D. Blazer; three sisters, Mary McGahee, Dearing, GA, Lillie and John Gay and Marguerite and Bill Williams, both of Augusta; also several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Blazer is predeceased by a brother, Mr. Albert Jones; sister, Mrs. Catherine Sanders and sister, Ms. Belle Braswell.
Mrs. Blazer’s husband said, “The Lord gave me this most precious gift 62 years ago when she became my lovely wife. Nothing will be the same until God brings us together to receive His priceless gift forever. To my Love, “Goodnight sweetheart, I love you. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
The Service will be held Monday, May 4, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Bellevue Memorial Park in the Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Dave Dillard officiating.
