Mrs. Lorine Black Williams
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, March 23, 2009, at University Hospital, Mrs. Lorine Black Williams, 92, wife of the late W. E. “Bill” Williams.
Mrs. Williams was a lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a former Cotton Queen, past member of the Augusta Junior Women’s Club and the longest attending member of St. James United Methodist Church. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker.
Family members include her sons: William J. Williams (Brenda), Cohen Thomas Williams (Emily), Warren R. Williams (Ann); grandchildren: Jennifer W. Neal, Amanda B. Williams, William Robert Williams, Carter Thomas Williams, Ginger Sitler, Michelle Durand, Andrea Armstrong, William “Bill” Walker, Henry Williams; numerous great-grandchildren; niece: Elaine Wheatley; nephews: Clifton Black, Douglas Black and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. at St. James United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Birchall officiating. Pallbearers will be Henry Williams, Freddie Neal, Fielding “Buddy” Jackson, Robert Williams, Ronald Wheatley and Richard Wheatley. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
