Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, April 26, 2009. Mrs. Lucy Jean Rishel was the wife of the late Colonel Retired Darrell Fred Rishel.
Mrs. Rishel was a member of the First Christian Church and the DAR.
Family members include son: Darrell Rishel and wife Allyn of Hickory, NC; daughter: Dr. Rebecca Mecredy and husband Dr. Tim Mecredy of Augusta, GA; sister: Therese Pounds of Upper Montclair, NJ; grandchildren: Darrell Rishel, III, Matthew Rishel, Michael Mecredy and Emily Mecredy; great-grandchildren: Alexander and Adam Rishel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with the Rev. Charles Cochran officiating. Internment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church 629 Greene St, Augusta, GA 30901.
