Murray David Grier
Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, May 31, 2014, Murray David Grier, 70, husband of Karen Sue Grier. Murray died peacefully at his home. He did it his way.
Murray was born in Niagara-On-The Lake, Ontario, Canada in 1943. He was a 24 year veteran, serving four years in the United Sates Navy on the U.S.S Benner in the Gulf of Tonkin and then 20 years in the United States Army. Murray was a Vietnam War Veteran serving with Ranger Units Mack V 19 and 22 from 1967 until 1970 in Da Nang, Qui Nhon and Nha Trang. After his service in the Military he worked as an Instructor for GTE and General Dynamics.
In addition to his wife, family members include son: Sean Robin Grier of Martinez; granddaughter: Elizabeth Skye Grier and sister: Dorothy Pietracupa of St. Catharines, Canada along with nephews and a niece and a host of cousins. Murray was preceded in death by his parents Norval and Rhoda Grier.
The family would like to thank Eisenhower Army Medical Center for their endless dedication; Dr. Burkett, Schmitt, Douglas, Mrsic and Joseph and the loving nurses and staff.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one’s charity of choice.
The family will receive friends Wednesday for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
