Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Westwood Nursing Home, Mrs. N. Shirley Perkins, 87, wife of the late Philip J. Perkins.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Canada and raised in New England but had resided in the Augusta area for 35 years. She enjoyed her job as a shorthand and typing teacher at Augusta Tech. She loved aerobics, reading, walking and her annual summer trips to the Massachusetts coast.
Family members include her son: Jon Perkins; daughters: Judy Henning (Cliff), Sandy Hatfield (Greg), Elizabeth Barone (Al); eight grandchildren: Christina Randolph, Julie, Erin & Ashley Hatfield, Elizabeth & Brittany Henning, Luke & Davis Barone and two great grandchildren: Hailey Kirk & Emily Randolph.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, January 23, at Trinity on the Hill UMC Chapel, 1330 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Come to the Chapel for directions.
