Nancy M. Bell

Nancy Carol McLaughlin Bell, aged 75, passed away on July 2, 2024, in Augusta, GA. Born on February 2, 1949, in Jasper, Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of the late Leland and Esther McLaughlin. 

Nancy is survived by a loving family: her husband of 53 years, Barney Bell; her daughters, Terri Moore and Jamie Organ (Cory); grandchildren, Taylor Moore (Kaitlyn), Haley Cale (Michael), Tiffanie Moore, and Mackenzie Organ; great-granddaughter, Emery Cale; 3 brothers, Carl McLaughlin (Margaret), Scott McLaughlin (Debby), and George McLaughlin (the late Sara). 

Nancy graduated from Mississippi State with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. She taught kindergarten and 1st grade for 10 years in Guin, Alabama and 22 years at Meadowbrook Elementary in Augusta, Georgia. 

Nancy loved to travel and has been to many places including seeing The Ark Exhibition in Kentucky, Niagara Falls, sightseeing in Denver, Colorado, Boston, and the mountains of Cherokee, NC. While on her travels she enjoyed adding Mickey Mouse memorabilia to her collection. She loved to bake for family, friends, and for all to enjoy. 

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 5th, 2024, at Poteet Funeral Home, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907. 

In lieu of flowers, please bring books that we will be donating in her honor to CSRA Title I Elementary Schools. 

Nancy's warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
