Nancy Huff

Augusta, GA – Nancy Howard Huff of Augusta, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Born November 5, 1938, in Norfolk, VA to the late Mary T. and Harry E. Howard, Nancy and her family moved to Goldsboro, NC during her second-grade year. She graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1956.

Following high school, Nancy moved to Athens, GA where she continued her education at the University of Georgia. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, but her priorities quickly shifted when she met her future husband, the late Robert “Gordon” Huff, Jr. during her freshman year. Though he often teased her about her terrible dancing skills, the two tied the knot in April of 1957. After marriage, Nancy and Gordon settled in Augusta, GA where they raised their three children and their puffball bichon, Larry, who they loved immensely. She was a ravenous reader (typically reading several books at a time), enjoyed playing tennis and Bridge with friends, was an exceptional cook and hostess, and adored her Peaches lunch group. She also loved history- especially reading about WWII, traveling to unique places in the world, and had a general zest for life. She’ll forever be remembered for her creative imagination and her wicked sense of humor, especially by her children and grandchildren who she often played jokes on.

Nancy is survived by her children: Robert G. “Bobby” Huff, III (Amy), Rebecca “Becky” Huff Beul (Ron), and Suzanne Huff Stahler (Mark); grandchildren: Jennifer Huff, Robert G. Huff, IV (Jennifer Bragdon), Keith Brigham (Kristy), Katherine Murphey (Alex), Thomas Beul, Rachel Stahler, David Stahler, and Harrison Stahler; great grandchildren: Robert G. “Robbie” Huff, V, Owen Brigham, Gordon Brigham, and Reeves Murphey. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Hatfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy will be honored at a private graveside service. Please join us to celebrate her life on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at her daughter, Becky Beul’s residence, 4135 Shady Oaks Drive, Martinez, GA 30907
