Evans, GA - Nancy Carol Thompson, age 77, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Evans, GA.
Born on March 14, 1946, in Folkston, Georgia. Nancy was once the saleswoman of the year due to her ability to listen and give extraordinary customer service, some might say she could sell sunscreen to a vampire. Her passion for being a homemaker ultimately became her main drive, encouraged her to cook incredible meals, host birthday parties, and other events, giving her the nickname "Fancy Nancy". Nancy was also a talented artist and loved spending time outdoors. Nancy was known for her kind heart, warm personality, and unwavering generosity. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and was deeply involved in teaching Vacation Bible School, and visiting nursing homes doing nails and hair to help others feel their best. Nancy will be deeply missed, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know & love her.
Nancy was the beloved wife of "Billy" Thompson for 59 years and 10 months, a devoted mother to her two children: Gail (Chris), and Roy (Angie); grandmother to: Crystal (Daniel), Richie (Taylor), Bryce, Kristen, and Dylan (Daphne) and great grandmother: to Avery, Owen, and Liv and sister to: Judee Kimbrell. Nancy was preceded in death by her siblings: Joyce, Lucille, Pat, Will, and Albert. Nancy fought a battle of cancer for five long years, she fought hard because she loved her family.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Nancy's life will be held on April 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors in Augusta, Georgia, family will receive guests at 1:00 p.m. for the viewing. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Nancy's memory to the Pine Forest Baptist Church, 2829 Pine Log, Langley, SC 29834.
