Evans, GA – Mrs. Naomi M. Boyd, 93, entered into rest Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at her home in Washington Commons. She was the wife of the late Colonel Raymond S. Boyd (Ret).
Mrs. Boyd was a native of Saluda, SC. She was the daughter of the late John A. McMillan and Lillie Covington McMillan. She is preceded in death by her 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
She graduated from Saluda, SC High School, the State Hospital School of Nursing in Columbia, SC, and Roper Hospital with honors in Charleston, SC. After graduation she joined the United States Army Nurse Corps. serving in the United States and in England during WWII.
She was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church and the Damren Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Senior Friends and for many years active in the Forest Acres Garden Club and the Augusta Garden Council.
Survivors are her son, Jerry Mac Boyd and his wife Patricia of Cumming, GA; granddaughter: Stephanie Lynn Hunt; great grandsons: Jonah Hunt, Elijah Hunt all of Athens, GA; and a step grandson: Andy Lacey of White Plains, GA.
A funeral service will be Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Mike Cash officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.
