Nelda Hopkins Reese
Augusta, GA - Nelda Hopkins Reese, 83, went home to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, June 17, 2023. She was the devoted and loving wife of Thomas M. Reese for 63 years.
She was born in Wilkes County Georgia to the late Charlie Wills and Lois Anderson Hopkins on January 31,1940 in the community of Lundberg.
She graduated from Richmond Academy, class of 1958, and Phillips Business College. She was employed by the State of Georgia East Central District Health Department, where she served as the Medicaid Liaison.
Nelda was a member of Curtis Baptist Church since 1959, where she served her Savior, our Lord, Jesus Christ in many capacities throughout her lifetime. Her main mission in life was to spread the gospel, help others, and live a Christ like
life. She was a true servant of the Lord.
She touched many lives, young and old, as she taught Sunday School to elementary school age children all the way to the oldest members of the church. She was very active in the music program of the church, being a faithful member of the adult choir and teaching children’s music.
She was a wonderful mother to her children: Karen Reese, Augusta, GA, Chuck Reese (Stephanie) Woodruff, SC, and Deenie Cerasuolo (Bud) Evans, GA. and embraced family member Rebecca Mueller. Grandchildren include Travis Cerasuolo (Morgan), Evans, GA, Nick Cerasuolo (Megan) Evans, GA, Ben Jones (Nancy) San Francisco, CA, Ivy Reese, Augusta, GA, Rachel Petrina (Bradley) Moore, SC, Savannah Juarez (David) N. Augusta, SC, Sarah Wilson (Tyler) Evans, GA. Great Grand Children include: Madi and Ezra Cerasuolo, Olive and Vivian Petrina, Henry Juarez, and Ash Cerasuolo.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Ben Palacz and Dr. John Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
