Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, Mrs. Nell H. Tyson, age 93.

Nell was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She attended Tubman High School but secretly eloped at age 15 and married her lifelong sweetheart of 45 years, the late James William Tyson. She and Bill were very active with the Augusta Shrine Club and she was a member of Elizabeth Chapter of the Eastern Star. Together they traveled the United States in a motor coach. After Bill’s death, Nell enjoyed needlepoint and cross-stitch and was a member of West Acres Baptist Church.

Family members include her daughter: Victoria T. Dudai (Richard); grandchildren: Guy Houser, Ashlee Gunby (Randy), Brandy D. Lockard (Jusbyn) of Knoxville, TN and great-grandchildren: Morgan Gunby and Avileigh Lockard. In addition to her husband, Nell was preceded in death by her daughter: Angela T. Houser and son: James W. Tyson, Jr.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
