Nell Eva Youngblood

Nell Eva Davis Youngblood entered into rest on Thursday, March 13, 2025 in Keysville, GA. Born April 12, 1932, Nell was originally from Screven County, GA and graduated from Sylvania High School. After high school, Nell moved to Augusta, GA and worked for Modern Roofing Metal. Soon she met the love of her life, James Herbert Youngblood, affectionately known as Jim, and they settled down to have a life together. Nell became a mother and homemaker, working with 4-H and the local Home Demonstration Club. Nell loved her family and took pride in making sure they were the best dressed on Sunday morning. She was a devoted Christian and was a longtime member of Hill Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. In 1989, she started her own home building business, Nell Youngblood Builders, LLC, and built homes for nearly 20 years in the Richmond and Columbia County areas.

Nell is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie E. Davis and Dorothy Davis Sharp, and siblings Jerrie Davis Connell, Shelva Davis Brown, and William "Billy" Charles Davis. Still living are her siblings Cora Lee Morris of Harlem, GA and Donald Davis (Nell) of Waco, TX.

Nell is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jim Youngblood; two children Debra Youngblood Flowers (Hank) of Bath, NC and Anton “Tony” Youngblood (Lili) of Augusta, GA; four grandchildren Henry Jared Flowers (Amy) of Brunswick, GA, Ami Flowers Staples (Shane) of Bath, NC, Kyle Mitchell Youngblood (Katelyn) of Dearing, GA, and Marlayna Youngblood Gause (Shaun) of Dearing, GA; and six great-grandchildren Simona Staples (4), Henry Flowers (4), Aiden Gause (4), Adalie Staples (2), Sawyer Youngblood(1), and Nolan Flowers (1). Nell also leaves behind Jethro, a big orange tabby cat.

Family will receive guests on Saturday, March 22, 2025 starting at 1:00pm at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors located at 214 Davis Road. A chapel service will take place at 2:00pm followed by a graveside service at the Westover Memorial Park at 2601 Wheeler Road in Augusta, GA with Rev. Baxter Stanley and Rev. Henry Flowers officiating. Pallbearers will be H. Jared Flowers, Kyle Youngblood, Shane Staples, and Shaun Gause.
