Mr. Simowitz was born in Augusta. Mr. Simowitz worked in the insurance industry for 25 years. He served on the county commission for 8 years and as chairman for several years. Mr. Simowitz was a graduate of the University of Georgia.
Family members include, son, Neil M. Berry (Sandra) of Graniteville, SC, daughter, Kathy A. Berry of Augusta, cousins, Henry Simon and Susie Saul.
A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, April 4, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rabbi Robert Klensin officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
A visitation will not be held.
