Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at his residence, Mr. Norman W. Stafford Sr., 82, husband of 52 years to Mrs. Annette P. Stafford. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He cherished his family time with his children and grandchildren and always enjoyed being a part of their special events.
Family members in addition to his wife include sons: Norman W. Stafford, Jr. (Brenda), Lawrence E. Stafford (Melissa); daughters: Catherine E Hutcheson (Joey), Sherry A Walker (Stovall); grandchildren: Britt Walker, Harrison Walker, Katelyn Snell, Will Stafford, Madeline Stafford, Madalyn White and Joshua Stafford; special cousin: Peggy Alewine. Mr. Stafford was predeceased by brothers: James J. Stafford Jr. and Robert E. Stafford.
Mr. Stafford was a native of Augusta, GA. He entered the US Army during the Korean Conflict and graduated OCS at Fort Bliss, TX and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant Artillery. Mr. Stafford attended Richmond, Co. Schools including Junior College of Augusta. He graduated from the University of Georgia. Mr. Stafford worked as a self employed CPA and he practiced accounting for over 60 years.
The family would like to thank United Hospice and especially Kelly Murray and Marty Lemmon.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son.
