Odilla Ruiz

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, April 1, 2024, Mrs. Odilla Rosalina Ruiz, 78, loving wife of Ricardo Ruiz, Jr.

Odilla was born in a small northern Italian town called Talmassons in 1945. After moving to Germany, she met the love of her life, Ricardo, whom she was married to for 55 years.  She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family and friends genuinely and with all of her heart. Those who knew her called her a firecracker because she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind.  

Odilla was a hard worker who retired after 20+ years in the management and hospitality industry. She loved to cook and loved taking vacations to the beach. She was a devout Catholic with an unconditional love for God. As she travels to heaven, she will be missed dearly but will be forever in our hearts. 

Family members, in addition to her husband, include her daughter: Kathy Rodgers (Kenner III); son: the late Richard Ruiz II (Jennifer); grandchildren: Victoria Johnson, Dominic Ruiz, Bennett Ruiz, and Lucas Ruiz; and great granddaughters: Arya Johnson and Zoey Johnson.

The memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. David Arnoldt celebrant. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon in the church Narthex.
