Oneida Redding Gibson
Evans, GA – Mrs. Oneida Redding Gibson, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
Born in Gastonia, NC to Harley S. and Iola Coggins Redding, she attended Gaston County Schools and graduated from Mars Hill College with degrees in Business and Economics. She loved her job at Augusta College Library where she retired as Assistant to the Librarian in 1990.
Mrs. Gibson was married to her husband, Charles B. Gibson, Sr. for 66 years before his death in 2016. She loved being a mother, carrying her children to all their sports and music events around town.
She was a member of The Hill Baptist Church where she served as librarian, choir member, WMU member and Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her sons: Charles B. Gibson, Jr., Augusta, James L. Gibson (Cindy) Macon, Brian K. Gibson (Trish) Dearing; her daughter: Jan G. Sutton (Al) Martinez; grandchildren: Alex Sutton (Suzanna), Jennifer Cook (Glenn, Jana Gibson, Jared Sutton, James L. Gibson (Jessica), and Leah LaFavor (Joshua); great grandchildren: Chase and Chandler Cook, Aiden, Sarahann, Austin, Sharlotte and Gabriel Sutton, and Reece Combs; her brother: Max Redding (Carmen), and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gibson is predeceased by her brothers: Harley, Jr., Yates, Ozzie and Paul Redding and her sisters: Lois Austin, Emalene Dixon and Carolyn Spencer.

The funeral service will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at The Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
