Marietta, Ga – Entered into rest on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Mrs. Patricia B. Godfrey, age 87, formally of Augusta, was born in Shelbyville, Indiana but lived in Augusta most of her life. She retired after 25 years with the Richmond County Board of Education as the Assistant to the Bookkeeper. She was a member of the Retired Educators and Employees Association. She was an active volunteer and member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was also a lifetime member of St. Joseph's auxiliary. Pat loved to sing and previously was a member of the choirs at both St. Joseph and St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Churches. She was formerly married to John V. Godfrey for 29 years. Pat was the mother of three daughters: Loraine Piro, Janet Privitera and Angela Lane. Additional family members include grandchildren: Tate Hurlbut, Anthony Piro, Jonathon and Rachel Lane; and a brother: William Brown.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Augusta on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 12:15 p.m. at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity with Fr. Jacek Szuster celebrant. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
