Harlem, GA - On Friday, April 15th, 2022, Patricia Gail Cannon ended her long battle with cancer. She spent a week on a ventilator, surrounded by her friends and family. Gail decided she was done and passed away quietly that morning.
Gail had many passions in her life. She was a true artist and loved painting and drawing. She studied photography and set up a home darkroom. She raced Jeeps for fun, was an avid runner, and loved to sing in the choir. Later in life she joined the Dragon Boat team through the Charleston Cancer Society. Her biggest passion, though, was her love of Jesus and she made her commitment to Christ at age 12 by joining First Baptist of Augusta.
She started her career in dentistry and orthodontics after graduating from Butler High school in Augusta. She went on to work in orthodontics for more than 40 years and worked with some of the best doctors in the country. Gail never stopped learning and she was always good at whatever she did.
Gail is survived by her daughter Alice (Eric); her grandchildren Sam and Rose; her mother Mary Alice; her siblings Bennie (Betsy), Crystal (Crawford), Mark, and Stephanie; her nieces and nephews, Ben (Clare), Blair, JD (Heather), Kelsi, Matthew, Joey, and Jakob.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church in Augusta, Georgia. Immediately afterwards, the family will receive friends.
