Pat, a native of Detroit, Michigan, was the only child of the late Stanley and Sue Rudolph. Throughout her childhood, some of her best memories were spending summers in the south with her Aunt Virgie and Aunt Bessie, She was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and held a Masters degree from Georgia Southern University. She married William Jenkins in 1964. As a military wife for 20 years, she discovered her love of adventure and enjoyed living in Kansas, Washington, DC, Texas, Colorado, and especially Alaska. Pat was a passionate and dedicated teacher. Her career in education spanned many locations and employers, with pupils ranging from elementary children, to soldiers at Ft. Gordon, to adult GED students. She retired from SRS Westinghouse as a training specialist in 2005. As a faithful member of Augusta First Assembly of God, she was the founder of the Care Team and a member of Women’s Ministries. She was a longtime member and former officer of Aglow International in Augusta, and volunteered in a women’s prison ministry for many years.
Pat is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her children: Jill Wright (John), Timothy Jenkins, and Pamela Thiewes (Scott); and five grandsons: Ben Wright, Patrick Wright, Harris Jenkins, Miller Thiewes, and Shea Thiewes. As an only child, Pat’s family may have been small, but her “family” of close friends is spread far and wide.
Pat loved traveling with friends and family, particularly returning to Alaska with her children and grandchildren in 2009. She treasured time with family, and enjoyed frequent trips to Hilton Head Island. Pat was a devoted and dedicated mother, Mimi, and friend. She truly had a servant’s heart, made everyone she encountered feel special, and was generous to friends and strangers alike. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Pat’s family is grateful to her many dear friends for their devoted support and assistance, and to her Visiting Angels caregivers for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Augusta First Assembly of God.
