Evans, GA – Mrs. Patricia J. Thomas, 73, entered into rest at her residence on Monday, July 9, 2018 following a brief illness.
Mrs. Thomas was a native of Sandersville, GA and a graduate of Georgia Southern University. Patricia resided in Evans for over 40 years where she was a teacher and retired from the Columbia County Board of Education. She loved to travel and after retiring was able to travel all over the world from Australia to Israel. Patricia wanted to be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a loyal, caring friend.
Family members include her sons: Christopher Lee Thomas (Apryl) of Bogart, GA and Nicholas Andrew Thomas (Merri) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren: Camilla Shay Thomas, Sophia Sherri Thomas, Anna Jaye Thomas, Luke Preston Thomas, and Nolan Andrew Thomas; and sister: Barbara Fowlkes (William) of Roswell, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston E. Thomas, Jr.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Magruder who was a treasured companion, confidant and friend to Patricia.
A memorial service will be Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. in the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church with Dr. Rodger Murchison and Rev. Will Dyer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
