Patricia "Patty" B. Williams

Entered into rest on Sunday, March 3, 2024, Mrs. Patricia “Patty” Baxter Williams, 86, loving wife of the late Dr. Neil A. Williams.

Patty was born to the late J. Edward and Willa Baxter in Commerce, GA. Upon graduation from the University of Georgia, she began her elementary school teaching career in Athens and Augusta, GA. Her greatest joy as an educator was serving as the director of Open Door Pre School for 25 years.

Patty dedicated her life to the service of others as an active member of Advent Lutheran Church and a tireless volunteer for Interfaith and GAP Ministries. Her natural leadership abilities extended into civic work for such organizations as CSRA Girl Scouts, Augusta Junior Woman’s Club, League of Women Voters, Augusta Ballet Guild, Columbia County Board of Elections, and the Medical College of Georgia Children’s Hospital.

Family members include her daughter: Renee Williams Toole (Bobby); son: Neil Alan Williams, Jr. (Sally); grandchildren: Jillian Toole, Zach Williams, and Mary Williams; and sister: Bette Gehr Miller (Perry).

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Advent Lutheran Church with Pastors Andrea Windsor-Peterson and Jason Peterson officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
