Patricia Wiseman
Augusta, GA – Patricia (Pat) Hinkle Wiseman, 84, of Augusta, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2014, at her residence after a long and courageous battle with leukemia and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. Matt Rich officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Burial will be held in Grand View Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio at a later date.
Pat was born July 11, 1929, in Chillicothe, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William (Bill) Wiseman, her mother and father, Ellen and Mason Hinkle of Chillicothe, Ohio, sister, Marilyn Rankin and brother, John Hinkle. Pat received her RN degree from Methodist School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. Pat and Bill moved to Augusta in 1970 from Brunswick, GA.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Wiseman of Augusta, and son, Steven (Lee) Wiseman of Birmingham, AL, and grandson, William Wiseman, A1C US Air Force.
A few of Pat’s outstanding Awards and recognitions were: 1970 Life Membership Presbyterian Woman of the Church; 1981 Georgia Clean and Beautiful Women of the Year, awarded by Governor George Busbee; 1999 Bronze Medal Award by the American Rose Society for loyal service to the Augusta Rose Society, having served as President and Membership Chairman. She served as the State President of the Garden Club of Georgia from 1997-1999. Pat found unlimited opportunities with The Garden Club of Georgia on the local, District, State, Deep South, and National level. Her motto was education, beautification and conservation for her community and her state.
Pat loved her community, church, singing in the choir, their Airedales, gardening, and her dog, Daisy, who followed her home one day while on her walk; Daisy never left her side.
