Martinez, GA - Patsy White Bennett, 78, loving wife of Jack Bennett, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 12, 2023, following a 12-year battle with Alzheimer's.
A native of Leavenworth, Kansas, Patsy was an army wife who, with her first husband, Charles Robert White, and their children, did tours of duty in Japan, Italy, and Germany. Upon settling in Harlem, Georgia, she opened Patsy's Pastries and Cafe. Later, she was a supervisor with Jet Food Stores. Patsy loved meeting people, cooking, baking, and riding her beloved horses. Patsy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta where she was a member of the Caring Coeds Sunday School class.
Survivors include her husband: Jack Bennett; daughters: Deanna Beasley (Harlem), Debby Knox (Frank) (Warrenton); and son: David White (Andrea) (Greenwood, SC); 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers: Billy Milbourn (Leavenworth, KS) and Ronnie Milbourn (Basehor, KS.) She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Robert White and son-in-law Steve Beasley.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in Storey Chapel at First Baptist Church with Rev. Will Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Caring Coeds Sunday School class. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors.
The family would like to thank Southeast Hospice for the compassionate and professional care she was given the past two years. Special thanks also go to private care givers Carol Norman and Saline Leverett.
