Paul Inglett
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, December 9, 2017 at University Hospital, Mr. Paul Foley Inglett, 77, loving husband of 52 years to Vandella Inglett.
Mr. Inglett was born in Chatham County but has lived in Augusta most of his life. He was noted for his talent in football at a young age and played for the Academy of Richmond and earned a full scholarship to play at the University of Tennessee. In 1962, Sports Illustrated named him a pre-season All American. Following his Junior year, cancer ended his playing career. His family would like to thank the late Dr. Dan Sullivan and Dr. Robert Shay, and many other doctors for their love and care throughout the last 55 years. Following football, he earned his BS from Georgia Southern University and Masters from USC. He coached at LBC, Academy of Richmond and Evans High School until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church where he worked in the nursery for a number of years.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughters: Candice Lane Inglett and Michelle Leigh Stanley; son: Matthew Paul Inglett; grandchildren: Evan Robert Stanley, Ella Hand, and Harrison Inglett; brother: Forest Inglett.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. David McKinley and Mrs. Emily Wyatt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park and pallbearers will be Reid, Alan, and Patrick Inglett, Chris, DeWayne, and Stephen Hollimon, Robert and Evan Stanley, and Rodney Sager.
