Paul A. Walton

Martinez, GA - Paul Augustus Walton, 91, of Martinez, Georgia, passed away on Father's Day, June 16, 2024, in Augusta, GA. He was born on April 27, 1933, in Blythe, Georgia, to the late Maurice Everett Walton and Earnestine Rentz Walton.

Paul served in the United States Navy. He implemented a computerized payroll system for Merry Brothers Brick and Tile. He later worked as a payroll accountant at Doc Savage Heating and Air.

A devout Christian, Paul worshipped at New Hope Church of God in Grovetown, GA, and Warren Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. 

Paul is survived by two siblings: Douglas Walton and Earnestine "Sugar" Tinsley; children: Gary Alan Walton (Tonya Walton), Wendy Jane Walton, and Mark Clayton Walton and daughter-in-law: Karen "Cricket" Walton. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Kelly, Kristopher, Kevin, Paul “Bubba”, Jason, Maegan (Brian), Wade (Rachel), Emily, Taylor (Benjamin) and Evan, as well as 9 great-grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife: Janie Mae Buck Walton; his parents Maurice Everett and Earnestine Rentz Walton; his siblings: Everett "Bubba" Walton, Daniel "Danny" Walton, Jeanie Walton Brewer and George Walton and son: Paul Edwin Walton.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Pastor Wade Walton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kristopher Walton, Kevin Walton, Paul Walton, Jason Walton, Evan Walton and Benjamin Lee.
