Paula Butler Cushman

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, January 12, 2016, Mrs. Paula Butler Cushman, 65, went home to be with the Lord with her family by her side.

Once diagnosed with cancer seven years ago, she never gave up. She never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future. She loved her family and was a devoted mother and doting grandmother. God gave her many wonderful traits. Just a few of them include, being a hard worker and a strong, talented, compassionate person. She loved spending time with her family, shopping, crocheting, and cooking for them. Paula was a member of Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church of North Augusta, SC.

Family members include her children: Kevin Cushman (Ally), Stephanie McWhite (Roddy); grandchildren: Cole and Emma Claire Cushman, Caleb, Joshua, and Noah McWhite; siblings: Veronica Arnett, Joan Morris (Glenn) and Simeon Butler (Wilma); step-father: Jesse R. Stubbs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Paula is preceded in death by her parents: Simeon Butler of Burke County, GA and Joyce Stubbs of Savannah, GA; and her sister: Patricia Copeland of Bradenton, FL.

The funeral service will be Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church in North Augusta, SC with Dr. Tommy Meador officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Homebound Ministries, c/o Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, 1850 Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29860.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 15, 2016, beginning at 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the Church.
