Peggy Dye

Evans GA – Entering into rest Saturday morning, December 23, 2023, in her home with her husband at her side, Mrs. Peggy Garrett Dye, 80, was wife of Lukey (Larry) Pierce Dye, Jr.

Originally from Macon, Ga., she moved to the Augusta area where she met and married her husband, Lukey (Larry) Dye in 1963. They spent most of their lives in Columbia County. She was a faithful member of Christ the King Lutheran church.  She retired from the State of Georgia after having served over thirty years as a nurse in Mental Health.

Peggy based her life on her faith, friends, and family. Peggy loved reading and traveling with her husband and family friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. 

The impact she had on this earth was described best by her sister-in-law, Sylvia Dye- “She loved hard and forever, we were blessed to have had her in our lives.”

Family members include her two sisters: Elaine Cook and Faye Gillespie, her two children: Scott Dye and Jonathan Dye; her daughter-in-law Julie Lynn Dye, and her two grandchildren: Abigayle Dye and Annah Grace Dye.

We wish to thank each of her close friends for their loving care and friendship. 

The memorial service will be held Friday, December 29, 2023, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 4232 Evans to Locks Rd, Evans, GA 30809.

The memorial service will begin at 11:00am for meet and greet with family and friends followed by memorial services at 12:00 noon and following service, lunch will be provided for all who wish to attend.
