Hephzibah, Ga - Mrs. Peggy Ann Parrish Fulcher, 83, peacefully passed away in the presence and loving arms of her family on November 27th, 2017.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 1st, 2017 at Hephzibah United Methodist Church with the Reverend Gary McWhorter officiating. Interment will follow in the Brothersville Cemetery on Mims Road. Pallbearers will be grandsons: James Cawley, Wesley Blevins, Cord Blevins, Trey Bussey; great-grandsons: Jared Ensley, Grayson Ensley; grandson-in-law: Kevin Vayda; and nephew: Todd Fulcher.

Peggy was born April 4th, 1934 in Augusta Georgia. She was the daughter of Edward William Parrish and Bonnie Stevens Parrish. In 1951 she married her husband of 66 years, William Clifford Fulcher, Sr. She gave birth to their first son, Billy in 1952. Peggy went on to graduate from Hurst Business College in 1953. Upon graduation, she began her long career in the office of Officer Personnel with the Department of the Army at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Peggy was a true trailblazer for women during the 1950’s managing both a professional career while flourishing as a dedicated, loving wife and mother. In 1954, Tim came along followed by the arrival of Kim in 1958 and Bonnie in 1962. She cared for all of her family’s needs as she continued to work outside of the home. Throughout Peggy’s career she received numerous service awards and promotions. She retired as a Management Analyst with the Directorate of Resource Management in1989 after 35 1/2 years of federal service.

After her retirement, Peggy did not slow down. She continued to care for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved being “Mamaw” and getting everyone together. Over the past 28 years, she enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing bridge, fishing in the low country, knitting, crocheting, shopping, and much more. She was a longtime member of the Hephzibah United Methodist Church and involved in ministries and outreach with the United Methodist Women. She volunteered for Release Time Christian Education to provide quality Bible education to public elementary school children. She was also an active member of the Goshen Ladies Association, the Red Hat Society, and the Fleming Homemakers Association where she served as both President and Vice President during her years of membership.

She is survived by her husband: William Clifford Fulcher, Sr.: children: William Clifford Fulcher, Jr. and his wife, Lois; Timothy Edward Fulcher, Kimberly Fulcher Blevins and her husband, Jeff, Bonnie Adele Wright and her husband, Roy; grandchildren: Crista Michelle Ensley, James William Cawley III, Madison Wesley Blevins, Allison Fae Vayda, Cordale Jeffrey Blevins, Ashley Morgan Ford, Catherine Arielle Blevins, and Fred Richard Bussey III (Trey); seven great-grandchildren: Grayson Ensley, Jared Ensley, James Cawley (Jas), Landon Ford, Gage Ford, Jaxson Ford, Audrie Fulcher; dear lifelong cousin and childhood friend: Shirley Deal; and niece: Beth Parrish. She was preceded in death by her brother: Benjamin Parrish; and grandson: William Raborn Fulcher.
