Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at University Hospital, Phil Tucker, 75, husband of Mrs. Linda Vidal Tucker.
Mr. Tucker was a native of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, but has lived in the Augusta area for over 20 years. Mr. Tucker was a graduate of Powell Valley High School. As captain of the football team, he was selected as an all state player, receiving a football scholarship to Lees - McRae College. He graduated Magna Cum-Laude with a degree in Business Administration. He worked as a computer analyst for Pet Dairy, Bristol Regional Hospital, and retired from the Computer Science School at the Department of Defense, Fort Gordon, Georgia. Mr. Tucker’s passion in life, first and foremost, was his family and then Tennessee Football. He also enjoyed genealogy and history.
Family members include: wife: Linda Vidal Tucker, daughter: Cynthia S. Ringley and husband, Shuler of Big Stone Gap, VA.; granddaughter: Carrie S. Mongle of Big Stone Gap, VA.; brothers: Paul Tucker and wife Shirley, Marvin Tucker and wife, Ursula; sisters: Peggy Tucker Strong, Joan Cox and husband, Jay; and nephew: Rev. Phil Goble.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Phil Goble officiating.
