Augusta, GA – Mr. Philip Allan Young, 59, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 27, 2016. A memorial service will be held at Curtis Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 2:00 P.M.
Born to Norma and the late Kenneth Young of Fort Madison, IA, Phil served in the United States Army and was a graduate of the University of Iowa. Phil retired from the Savannah River Plant where he worked as a programmer. He was a born again Christian and was a member of Curtis Baptist Church. For many years he was involved in Toastmasters in the Augusta area. Phil enjoyed volunteering at the VA hospital.
Phil is survived by his wife Sandra Young, his mother Norma Young of Fort Madison, IA, his brother Perry and sister-in-law Kala of Danville, IA, his two sisters Patricia Rod and his brother-in-law Steve of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Pamela Young of Rock Island, IL. Phil has two nieces and two nephews, one grand niece and 1 grand nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at 4115 Columbia Rd., Martinez, GA 30907.
