Phyllis Monica Brandon passed away peacefully at Brandon Wilde Senior Living Facility in Augusta, Georgia on January 2, 2025. She was 83 years old.
Phyllis was born on April 11, 1941, in Washington, D.C. to Nancy Alexander Monica and Philip Felix Monica. She spent her childhood in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended North Fulton High School. Phyllis pursued higher education at Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina, before transferring to the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. While at the University of Georgia, she became a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity. Phyllis and Robert raised their family in Griffin, Georgia where she was an active member of St. George’s Episcopal Church.
Phyllis was known for her warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Uplifting and positive, she gave her time freely to others. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Robert Weir Brandon, children, Lisa Brandon DeLorme (Paul) of Atlanta, Georgia and Monica Brandon Sims of Augusta, Georgia, grandchildren, Matthew DeLorme, Emma DeLorme, Harper Sims, Robert DeLorme, and Anna Sims.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alan Max Monica.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 11:00 AM at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Griffin, Georgia with a reception immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Phyllis’s name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the humane society of your choice.
