Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, May 4, 2015, Mrs. Pi Gunnels Millar, 85, wife to the late Douglas M. Millar.
Mrs. Millar was a native of Greenville, SC but resided in Augusta for most of her life. She was a graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. She retired as a teacher from the Richmond County Board of Education after 38 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Family members include her sons: Phil Gunnels and wife Suzanne, Chris Gunnels and wife Cindy; stepson: Doug Millar and wife Cathy; stepdaughter: Randi Millar Widner; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her son: Mickey Gunnels, and stepdaughter: Carter M. Redd.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiating. A private burial will follow the service.
