Quentin L. “Q.L” Conway
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, December 11, 2013, Mr. Quentin L. “Q.L.” Conway, 90, husband of the late Mrs. Bessie W. Conway.
Mr. Conway was a native of Wilkinsburg, PA but lived in Augusta for most of his life. He served in the US Army during World War II and received several medals of Honor. He survived after his plane was a shot down during the Pearl Harbor attack and retired from the military after several years. He then retired from the Augusta Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Conway was a 50 year Mason with Social Lodge #1.
Family members include daughter: Ethel Annette Reese (Danny) of Harlem, GA.
A funeral service will be held today at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Richard Weaver, Charlie Lass, Alfred Newman, Pat Young, Glenn Roland, and Greg Newsome.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 106 SRP Drive Suite A, Evans, GA 30809.
