AUGUSTA, Ga. – Entered into rest Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Trinity Hospital of Augusta, Mrs. R. Elizabeth “Liz” Herdegen, 79, wife of Richard Edward Herdegen of Harlem,GA.
Mrs. Herdegen was a native of Chapel Hill, NC and moved to the Augusta area in 1994.
She retired as an Operating Room Technician at Emory University Hospital where she worked for 15 years in the Open Heart Surgery Unit. She was a member of St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church.
Family members in addition to her husband include her daughter: Donna L. Lee and husband Michael of Stone Mountain, GA; son: Rick Hellyer and wife Linda of Sandersville, GA; 5 grandchildren; brother: Billy Freeland and wife Mary of Chapel Hill, NC; and sister: Sarah Perry and husband Buck of Siler City, NC.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2009, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, GA, 30909.
