R. Scott Powell
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, R. Scott Powell, 57.
Scott was born in Jacksonville, FL but lived most of his life in Augusta. He graduated from Evans High School and Augusta College with a bachelor’s in business. Due to a hunting accident at the age of 18, he was a paraplegic, but Scott was still active and loved to shoot Skeet and Trap at Pinetuckey Gun Club, water ski, as well as being an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed having friends over while cooking on the grill. Scott did not let his disability hinder his activities nor his love for others with disabilities. He was a volunteer in helping young people with disabilities. He was employed in sales by Numotion, where he helped the disabled with proper fit in wheelchairs. Scott was a loving son, brother, and uncle.
Family members include his mother: Martha E. Walker; sisters: Katrina P. Turner (John), Marty Powell; brother: Al Powell (Denise); 9 nieces and nephews and 11 grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Robert L. Powell and his stepfather: Douglas T. Walker.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11:00 A. M. in the chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
