Rachel “Libbie” Bullard Nichols

EVANS, Ga. – Entered into rest Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Morningside Assisted Living, Rachel “Libbie” Bullard Nichols, wife of Jimmie Augustus Nichols.

Mrs. Nichols was a native and lifelong resident of Columbia County. She was a school bus driver for Columbia County Board of Education for over 30 years and bookkeeper for J.A. Nichols Masonry. Mrs. Nichols was a member of Marvin Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was a charter member and past Worthy Matron of Martinez Chapter #464 Order of the Eastern Star.

Family members include her sons: William Keith Nichols and wife Jeannette of Columbia, SC, Gary Edward Nichols and wife Lola of Roswell, GA; grandchildren: Kristi Nichols, Tiffany Rowan (Austin), Jamie Andrews, Joshua Andrews (Caroline), Jeremy Nichols and Holly Nichols; sister Shirley Bohling (Bill), brothers George Bullard (Angela) and Cecil Bullard (Mandy); and sister in law Mildred Bullard. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her parents D. A. “Bunk” Bullard and Ima Yelton Bullard, brothers Bob Bullard (Pat) and David Bullard.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11:00am at Sharon Baptist Church, Appling, GA with Rev. Elizabeth Ackerman and Rev. David Bohling officiating. Mrs. Nichols will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jerry Bullard, Dr. Richard Boyd, Dennis Bullard, Dr. Jonathan Bullard, Josh Andrews and Jeremy Nichols. Interment will follow at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.
