Mr. Ray “Raybo” E. Ferguson, Jr.

Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Doctor’s Hospital, Ray “Raybo” E. Ferguson, 58, husband to Diane Patterson Ferguson for 32 years.

Born to Ray Eugene Ferguson, Sr. and Berta Jean Mitchell Ferguson in Augusta, GA, Mr. Ferguson was a fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and racing. He loved golf, hunting, fishing and camping. He was employed for 29 years in the printing industry as a maintenance mechanic in Evans – presently Quad Graphics.

In addition to his wife, family members include son: Ray Anthony Ferguson of Knoxville, TN; daughter: Marcy Ferguson McConnell and her husband Shannon of Hephzibah, GA; beloved granddaughter: Destiny Rae King of Hephzibah, GA; sisters: Connie Ferguson Black and her husband Charles of North Augusta, SC, Cheryl Ferguson McNair of Thomson, GA; uncle: Sonny Mitchell and his wife Betty of North Augusta, SC; sister-in-law: Lucretia Ferguson of Thomson, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins and faithful friend Peanut. Mr. Ferguson is also survived by a very special group of close friends who supported him and his family during his brief illness; a special thanks to the Doctor’s Hospital 5th floor nursing staff, Dr. Squires and Dr. Amurao. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Calvin L. Ferguson.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Rev. Tim Thompson will officiate and Dewey Thompson will assist. Interment will be private. Honorary pallbearers will be maintenance co-workers from Quad Graphics.
