Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, Ray Byron Wren, 78, loving husband of 51 years to Ann Swan Wren.
Ray was a lifelong resident of Augusta, Georgia. He was the founder and current owner of Stitches Unlimited and the prior owner of The Rack and Grill. Ray was a member of Local 150 Pipe and Steamfitters and the Elks Lodge and he dabbled in real estate development. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Ray was known affectionately as “Pa” to his grandchildren.
Family members in addition to his wife Ann, include his children: Jason Swan Wren (Chelsea), Casey Wren Chochol (Sharif); grandchildren: Haley Chochol, Cooper Wren, Wren Chochol, Carter Wren, Lawson Chochol and Cruz Wren and many other loving family members. Mr. Wren was preceded in death by his parents Albert Byron Wren and Gladys Crosby Wren and a brother Marcus Gerald Wren.
The funeral service will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Roy McVeigh officiating. Interment will follow in Ways Baptist Church Cemetery in Stellaville, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Ray’s nephews: Bob Swan, Brad Swan, Scott Mitchell, Danny Dowling, Mark Wren, Byron Wren. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hebbard, Steve Miller, Dan Dent, Dave Dent, Jim Adams, Jim Faxon, Butch Batzel, Tommy Daniels, Bernie Hendrix and Rob Thomas.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Aidmore Childrens Center 2394 Morrison Rd SW, Conyers, GA 30094.
