Ray Peterson,
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, July 22, 2017, Mr. Raymond Arthur Peterson, Jr., 79, loving husband of 41 years to the late Betty Harter Peterson.
Mr. Peterson was born in Meadville, PA where he enlisted in the United States Army which led him to Augusta. After serving in the Army he began a long career as an electrician with King Harry’s Music Service and A&M Music. Mr. Peterson was a member of First Baptist Church. He enjoyed dancing with the Augusta Christian Singles, completing crosswords, sudokus, and most of all entertaining others with an endless supply of humorous jokes. He loved taking care of his furry cats, Captain, Scamp, and Lilly. He also had a love for antique juke boxes and pinball machines.
Family members include his daughters: Alma J. Pearl (Linwood) and the late Charlotte A. Peterson; granddaughters: Shelbie P. Marshall (Josh) and Ally M. Pearl; sister: Jeanette Dilorenzo; and dear friend: Duane Nance.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
