Reba Delree Rogers Sims
Medical Technologist
Augusta, GA – Reba Delree Rogers Sims, age 78, passed away in Albany, GA on Monday, January 10, 2011. She lived in Augusta for many years before moving to Albany in January, 2008.
She was born in Heard County in July, 1932, the daughter of George Franklin and Tessie Word Rogers. She attended West Georgia College and was a trained Medical Technologist. She worked at several hospitals in Augusta and retired from the VA Hospital there.
She was an active member of Warren Baptist Church where she was instrumental in starting the Singles Ministry there in the late 1980’s. She was also active in the Joyful Women’s Sunday School and was on the local Mission committee for her church. She was active in the Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Sims, her daughter. Linda Sims Houts, Ketchikan, AK, her parents, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, Neil Sims, Pauline, SC, a son-in-law, Mike Houts, Ketchikan, AK, 4 grandchildren, Nathan, Trevor and Amanda Houts, Ketcikan, AK, and Dakota Sims, Pauline, SC, on brother, Lonnie Rogers, Roopville, GA, two sisters, Parrie Reimer, Albany, GA and Opal Cannon, Leesburg, GA. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Warren Baptist Church with Rev. Bret Legg officiating. Pallbearers will be her nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service in the chapel at Warren Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
