Augusta, GA – Mrs. Reba June Holeman Hardy, 89, of Augusta, GA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Reba was born in Lagrange, GA, on June 27, 1932, to Thelma Clara and Thomas Hewlette Holeman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Leware Hardy.

Reba married her childhood sweetheart, Sam, on November 21, 1953, and, after many adventures during his time in the Navy, they settled and raised their family in Augusta, GA.

Reba is survived by her 5 children, son Ken Hardy (Lucy) of Augusta, GA, daughter Kathy Smalley (Jerry) of Alpharetta, GA, son Kris Hardy (Susan) of Martinez, GA, son Kerry Hardy (Beth) of Augusta, GA, and daughter Kelly Enser (Tom) of Buford, GA, 17 grandchildren, Sam Hardy (Allison) of Augusta, GA, Caroline Lane (Franklin) of Waynesboro, GA, Steve Hardy of Augusta, GA, Catherine Hardy of Augusta, GA, Ben Smalley (Madeline) of Atlanta, GA, Katie Rowe (Will) of Huntsville, AL, Andy Smalley of Apopka, FL, Tom Hardy (Kelsey) of Charleston, SC, John Hardy of Nashville, TN, Beth Hardy of Atlanta, GA, Rhodes Hardy (Christina) of Charleston, SC, Zach Thompson of Dallas, GA, Tyler Thompson of Dallas, GA, Knox Hardy of Augusta, GA, Matt Enser of Buford, GA, Andrew Enser of El Paso, TX, and Anna Enser of Buford, GA, and 4 great-grandchildren, Lucy Lane, Maggie Lane and Hardy Lane of Waynesboro, GA, Thomas Hardy of Charleston, SC, and Emily Lowe and Levi Lowe of Huntsville, AL.

While a student at Russell High School in East Point, Reba was a multi-sport athlete. After high school, she played in a semi-pro baseball league, and her competitive sports spirit continued throughout her life, leading her to coach the basketball and softball teams at National Hills Baptist Church for many years.
A devout Christian, Reba was a charter member of the National Hills Baptist Church and a member for more than 50 years. She served on many committees, served as Sunday School Secretary, sang in the church choir, chaperoned youth trips, participated in church improvement projects, coached athletic teams and more over the 5 decades she was involved in the church.

Reba was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. In later years, she enjoyed tending her flowers, bird watching, reading, caring for her beloved dog Shorty, and keeping up with the grandkids. She will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held at Thomas Poteet & Son on Davis Road on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held at Westover Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 10:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ASPCA or to the Fragile First Foundation of Capstone Hospice, 5550 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 150, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092.
