Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, October 21, 2017, Mr. Recil Burl Thrash, 88, loving husband to the late Hildegard W. Thrash.
In 1929, Mr. Thrash was born in Montevallo, AL to the late Ward and Alberta Thrash. He proudly served in the United States Army as an E-7 from 1947 until 1977. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Family members include his daughters: Rachel Landis (John) and Natalia Thrash; grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, and Shelby Landis; great grandchildren: Cayden and Caroline Landis, and McKinley Reville; faithful canine buddy: Simon; sisters: Brenda Brady, Wanda Glazner, and Floy Watkins; brothers: DeWayne Thrash and George Thrash; many nieces and nephews including Lisa Brady and Debra Watkins. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Britta Thrash.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor John Landis officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
