Evans, GA – Renate Elston, age 69, entered into rest Friday, February 7, 2014 with her family at her side.
Mrs. Elston was born in Bremerhaven, Germany. She wed the late Mr. Kenneth Elston in 1963, and left Germany to embark on her new life in the United States. After retiring from a career in accounting, she enjoyed spending time ballroom dancing, knitting and crocheting, and traveling throughout North America and Europe. She was member of Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the German Friendship Club.
She leaves behind her daughters Tanya Burnette (Larry) of Atlanta, and Stefanie Newhall (David) of Augusta; her beloved dachshund Tilly; and her loving friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 14 at 11 am at the Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven O. Olson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CSRA Humane Society, 425 Wood St. Augusta; or the ALS Association, Georgia Chapter.
