Renee Thomas Bass
Lincolnton, GA – Transitioned into Heaven on Friday, September 24, 2021, in the comfort of the arms of her family. Renee Thomas Bass, 66 years old, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Franklin B. Thomas Jr, cherished wife of Dr. James David Bass, devoted mother of James David Bass, Jr., Kathleen Bass Cantey, and Jennifer Bass Kroger (Jae), adored “Nae-Nae” to Emilee Grace Cantey, Michael Bryce Cantey, Camille Bennett Kroger, Madeline Kaye Bass, and Ellis Rae Kroger.
Renee is also survived by her brothers, Franklin B. Thomas III (Deborah), Edward W. Thomas (Julie), sisters in law, Sandra Bass Jennings (Jimmy), Joy Bass Johnson (Ronny), Cindy Bass Kucela (John), and numerous precious nieces and nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.
As a native of Augusta, Georgia, Renee was a graduate of Butler High School and attended Augusta Technical College. She grew up in the Episcopal church and attended Christ Episcopal Church most of her life. Most recently, she was an active member of Martins Crossroads Church in Lincolnton, Georgia.
Renee will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious energy, and the ability to make everyone feel like family. Although she was small in size, her impact on the lives of others was immense. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, resilience, loyalty, and unbreakable spirit.
