Rev. Grady T. Wigley, Jr.

Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, May 20, 2021, Rev. Grady T. Wigley, Jr. 95, husband of Doris Camp Wigley.

He was a U.S. Army WWll Veteran and graduate of both the University of Georgia and the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. As a member of the North Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church, he served the following churches: Maysville, Prospect, Lawrenceville, Colbert, Rockmart, Mount Zion, St. James, Aldersgate and Athens First United Methodist Church as associate. Following retirement in 1993, Grady served as minister of Pastoral Care at Athens First until 2008.

Surviving family members in addition to his wife include his son and daughter-in-law: Philip and Debbie Wigley; daughters: Patti Wigley, Julie and Eric Groothand; sisters: Joyce Tillison and Linda Frasure; grandchildren: Woodrow Shane Wigley, Kasandra, Phillip G. Wigley, Toby and Charlie Dillard, Morgan Groothand.

The memorial service will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Revs. Brett DeHart, Grady Mosley, and Jerry Varnado officiating.
